Whether it\u2019s for a birthday, anniversary, or maybe eve Valentines Day \u2013 creating your own personalised card is a brilliant way to add that little touch of something extra. But most people don\u2019t realise that they can create their very own cards using their printer!<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting Started \u2013 Creating Your Design<\/b><\/h2>\n

Your first step is to put together a design you like. If you\u2019ve got experience using photoshop, then you\u2019re sorted. But if not, you can leapfrog this process and get a great result using a platform like <\/span>Canva<\/span><\/a>. Canva is a free tool that has thousands of designs for you to pick from and edit to make your own \u2013 it even lets you import photos!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We recommend taking your time here because this is where you\u2019ll get the chance to really put your stamp on your design. When you feel you\u2019ve got your design to where you want it, simply export the design in a high resolution PDF or similar file \u2013 and you\u2019re ready to head onto the next step.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fire Up Your Printer<\/b><\/h3>\n

Here\u2019s where your printer comes in. Once you\u2019ve settled on a design, it\u2019s time to send that design through to your printer. Use paper that you like, and make sure that you\u2019re printing a high-resolution version of the design you\u2019ve created.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important to think on here, if your design features printed detail on both the inside and the outside of your card, you\u2019ll need to remove your card from the tray, reverse it, and feed it back through your printer for the other side. Some printers come equipped with features that will handle this step for you. But it certainly doesn\u2019t need to be one of those to get a great result.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some Other Uses for Your Printer<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re happy with the results you\u2019ve got, then you\u2019re done! Even if you\u2019re not quite there yet, you have the process down now, and all it will take is some refinement of the design. Important to note, if you\u2019re looking to get a large run of cards printed, maybe for a wedding, then you can use your home printer to prototype your card options before committing to a large order or sample fee!<\/span><\/p>\n
